With pre-recorded instructions, the rechargeable Safety Mate calmly talks you through a range of first-aid procedures, right down to counting the 30 chest compressions between breaths as you administer CPR.
Trouble is, the two current models have a very terrestrial slant (helping a drowning victim is the most obvious omission). The company says it may develop a marine version, if it’s initial offerings succeed. Until that happens, PS thinks the $279 it costs would be better spent on first-aid courses for you and your crew.
