Practical Sailor is pleased to announce its completely redesigned website, www.practical-sailor.com. The refit means the site now offers you and all our loyal subscribers free access to Practical Sailor‘s online archives 24 hours a day. Once subscribers are logged on to the website, they will be able to read, at no extra charge, any article that was published after January 1998. Paid subscribers also will have free online access to hundreds of sailboat reviews. The websites improved search engine will help users scour the archives by topic or keyword. Tabs at the top of the webpage will help you navigate through the various gear test categories.
As former cruising sailors, the PS crew knows that this new service will be especially useful to those cruisers who spend all or part of the year onboard their sailboats and don’t have the locker space for binders full of PS‘s back issues. Imagine how nice it will be to have instant, electronic access to independent tests of virtually any piece of sailing equipment. Subscribers will be able to download a PDF of the entire issue each month-as well as those from recent years.
In addition to the online access to our valuable archives, the new website features a new format that highlights current articles in the magazine, and keeps readers in touch with important trends in the sport of sailing, the marine marketplace, and the boating industry. We will also have links to important resources for sailors, including our popular departments such as PS Advisor and Mailport.
Be sure to look for our free weekly e-letter, Waypoints, in the coming weeks. In it, youll find useful tips and ideas to keep your sailing safer, more economical, and more enjoyable. And well also be checking in each week on our Inside Practical Sailor blog, which now is hosted on www.practical-sailor.com.
We continue to work hard at Practical Sailor in our effort to serve sailors like you, and we appreciate your support.
