Cosa board is a closed cell panel that is reinforced with glass fiber, giving it both shear strength and compression strength. Compared to the most common balsa, foam, or plywood cores used in boat construction, it better resists moisture.

- Even at nearly proof load, Coosa Marine 26 resists compression exceptionally well. Note the glass fibers on the surface and the glass cloth layers just under the surface.
- As with all cores, failure is indicated by the fender washer bending. Use extra-wide fender washers or backing plates to prevent failure.
- Stiffening and reinforcing boat transoms is the one of the most common boat-building applications for Coosa board.
- Coosa board bonded to the hull creates lightweight and water-resistant panel for mounting accessories without drilling holes in the boat.
